So I took the plunge and respecced my Shaman to Restoration last night, just to try it out. I have to say, I'm actually rather impressed. Earthen Shield is an awesome ability, and Mana Tide Totem is pretty damn nice as well. I haven't used Nature's Swiftness yet, but it looks promising!
The best part is that I still had enough talent points to use my big two-handed weapons, which made me feel decidedly nostalgic. When killing mobs, I found that I could pretty much grind nonstop. Enhancement started requiring a lot of downtime, which was frustrating. After killing a mob, I was often at 50% Health/Mana. With Resto, though it takes longer, I'm typically at 100% Health/90% Mana, even when fighting multiple enemies. Not too shabby!
I'll keep playing with it and see how it works with groups (fairly well, I'd imagine, especially now that my totems have a much greater reach). I am, of course, still keeping all my Enhancement stuff.
I missed Kev's Exalted debut, which kinda sucks (especially since I've been pushing for him to run the damn game for years), but I simply wasn't up to social interaction last night. The thought of role-playing kinda made me want to scream. I think I might be overdoing it with the whole "gaming three nights a week" deal, but I'd hate to back out of any of them. I guess if it continues, I might have to. Oh well. There are worse things that could happen.
Peace!
