Happy February!
So, Daniel Radcliffe (the kid that plays Harry Potter, for those of you out there that don't read the credits when your movie ends) is stirring up a shit-storm because he's in a new movie which, to put it mildly, isn't for kids. To which I say: good! I'm glad he's trying to avoid being typecast.
"But he's setting a bad example for my children!" some whiny parents might cry. To which I respond, "Boo-freaking-hoo! If you don't like it, then don't let them see the movie! What kind of parent would you be that you bring your kids to see a movie about boy/horse love, anyway?" Probably the same kind of parent that brings their kids to see The Passion of the Christ.
Microsoft released Windows Vista just recently, and I've been getting mixed reports in. I had a couple of good links...which, of course, I can no longer find (all hail Murphy, whose Law is absolute!). The biggest problems I've heard of are compatability issues for both hardware and software. I know that some people are having to re-install WoW which is a tremendous pain in the ass. We're talking, what, nine disks? Plus patches? Brrrr! The very thought leaves me cold. I've also heard that Vista is missing some important drivers, and that upgrading from XP is a nightmare.
On the other hand, it's supposed to be a pretty damn secure OS. Perhaps too secure?
None of this matters much to me, as I couldn't afford to upgrade to it even if I wanted to, which I don't.
Well, not too much, anyway. Stupid shiny objects!
In closing, I love America.

Well as with all OS's, I will wait untill all the bugs are worked out, and then for the price to drop a bit before upgrading. Right now, I see no reason to upgrade anyway.
As a side note, have you noticed how much the NEW windows OS looks like the old Mac OS?
Just an observation.
I haven't seen much of Vista, but I remember hearing that while it was in beta (mostly from very smug Mac users, who snickered at me between sips from their Starbucks mug while text-messaging).
