Prophetic Guitar Books

So, the new Dark Prophecy game continues today, and I'm already battling against my first instinct. More specifically, I'm trying not to let this game turn into a sandbox.

It never works out. Never. Not with this group. They need a road to follow, or else they'll just sit down and wait for something to happen. And they will wait forever, bitching the entire time.

I might have some extra time today to prepare, which will be nice. I could use it. I haven’t had much time this past week for anything of the sort, what with the fires and all.

I picked up Guitar Hero III yesterday, which has gone to show just how badly I suck at that game. That controller is not comfortable by any means, and I usually have to stretch out my hand after any given song. It’s a lot of fun, though, and I’ve been pleased with the musical choices available to me thus far. Though for some damn fool reason I decided to pick it up on the Wii, and I’ve kind of been regretting my decision thus far. Having to stick my damn Wiimote into the guitar is annoying enough (especially since there’s hardly enough room for it), but then I found out that A) you can’t buy separate controllers, but B) there’s no offline multiplayer anyway, so, you know, it doesn’t really matter. How fucking stupid is that? The Xbox 360 version of the game is getting a patch tomorrow to allow for offline multiplayer, but there’s yet to be any word about the other versions. Well played, Activision. Well played indeed.

On a fluke on Saturday, I blindly purchased a hardcover book. This is a rare event in that I don’t buy hardcovers, especially from authors I’ve never heard of before. The book I bought was The Name of the Wind, and thus far it’s been worth every penny. I’m always pleased when a fantasy book turns out well, as it’s such a rare occurrence. I’d recommend you give it a look if you have the time/money/interest.

That’s all for now. Peace!
