For all my WoW friends out there, you can take a look at some of the new stuff coming in upcoming patch here. I can't say that I'm happy with the class changes in the upcoming patch (my clearcasting nerf is not appreciated), but they're certainly working double-time to keep the level 70s entertained! They also seem to be adding a lot of Northrend-flavored items...
And Warlocks get wings?! Bastards! Looks like I've got some leveling to do...
Lord of the Rings Online comes out next week, and I've been getting that nasty itch that comes before a sudden and burning desire to own something. The problem is that I have very little interest in playing the game itself, but god-fucking-DAMN-it, I want to wander around Middle-Earth. So. Damn. Bad.
I read the Lord of the Rings in the 3rd grade, and have been a die-hard LotR fanboy ever since. The chance to wander about the Shire and battle Goblins under the Misty Mountains is something that I would kill for. I don't expect people to understand my burning desire to do these things, just as I don't understand why people collect stamps or send anthrax in the mail. To put it basically, the chance to wander around a well-rendered version of Middle-Earth would be a dream come true.
If Moria is a playable instance in that game, I don't know if I can contain myself. Talking myself out of it is difficult enough already, what with Tom Bombadill already confirmed and the Misty Mountains open for adventuring. Then again, I hear that there are many areas (Rohan, Gondor) that are not available yet, and may be released in "expansions", which makes me want to weep and take a hit of that ol' Shire leaf to calm my frayed nerves. But goddamn, it is so tempting.
I'm going to download the beta client tonight and see what's what. I sincerely hope that it's a steaming pile of crap, so that I don't get sucked into it. Then again, if it sucks I might be tempted to invest in gasoline and a box of matches. You know, for a...bonfire. Of sorts.
I've heard a lot of people dismiss the game, saying "Eh, it plays like WoW." I don't know about you guys, but to me, WoW + LotR = pwn(face[lol]).
Even if I do start playing it, I realize and accept that I will be doing so alone. My friends rarely listen when I try to get them invloved in games I like. There has been only one exception, which made me scream "I TOLD YOU SO!" for several months afterwards.*
*On the other hand, I apologize whole-heartedly for selling Casey on Battlefield 2142. Please believe me when I say that I was even more dissapointed than you were. EA is my Judas.
Damn, we need to play some more Dawn of War...
That's it for now. Peace!

Well I don't consider 2142 a total failure. yet.
I still have hopes that one day, it will run clean as a whistle.
Hope is fading.
