Scribble

Writing up a bit o' blog while waiting for Steam to finish downloading shit so that I can test out the GoldenEye Source mod I talked about yesterday. I'll let you know how it is when I've given it a shot.

I have a writing meeting thing with my girlfriend's dad again tonight. We did this a couple of times towards the beginning of last year, but health issues and conflicting schedules (see: real life) kinda got in the way, and it stopped. Basically, we're both supposed to write ten pages and then read them aloud to those present, who are then supposed to give "constructive criticism".

Plus, he usually barbecues on these nights, and he makes a damn good cheeseburger.

I only have about five pages done, though I might get some more in before tonight. It's tricky, though...I'm kinda stuck in my stories, and have no idea where they're going. This is actually pretty standard. I've had writer's block almost my entire adult life. I can create awesome characters, but plots have always given me a bit of trouble.

I should just start writing trash fantasy. That shit is easy.

Man thats cool that he does that with you. Does he write proffesionaly too, or is it a hobby for him as well?

I wish I could write. I've been pretty good with coming up with plot ideas, but never good at thinking them out entirely, and plotting them out (pun not entirely intended). You should post your stories here so I can read them durring work.

So, whats trash fantasy?

By "trash fantasy" I mean pulpy hack-n-slash shit. Vanilla fantasy. Stuff like that.

No, he doesn't write professionally. He makes semiconductors for a living. I've seen his lab (yes, he works in a lab), and it was fascinating watching people approx. seven million times smarter than I am at work.

BTW, I don't mean the term "trash fantasy" to be derogative. I read and enjoy Conan, for Chrissakes!
