A New Age of Heroes

My humiliating defeat this weekend at the hands of my girlfriend has served done several things. Besides having to now call her "O Sublime One" and kow-tow whenever she enters a room, her mastery of Super Puzzle Fighter has awakened in me a nostalgia I had not given much thought to recently: namely, I find myself missing the days of the 2D fighter.

Possessed by this itch, I decided to have my trusty and stalwart companion, the Internet, whip me up a list of online merchants who have for sale a copy of my favorite game in the genre, Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Back in the day, my friends and I would play this game from dawn 'til dusk, cheering and cursing in equal measure as we attempted to destroy each other digitally. I no longer have access to my Dreamcast of old, so I would need to pick up a new copy for either the XBox or PS2 to recreate these golden times.

Imagine my horror to find that the current prices for this game are completely ridiculous. Apparently, the printing run on the PS2 and XBox versions of the game were horrendously low, due to Capcom losing the Marvel licence. The bastards!

I guess I'll just have to wait for the Street Fighter II remake. Until then, I'll just weep softly into my pillow and dream sweet dreams of complicated analog inputs.
