I've played several MMOs over the past few months. Here's a short and sweet review of some of them:
Age of Conan: Beautiful game. The first twenty levels are very enjoyable. Once you get out of the newbie area, however, the game immediately starts a downward spiral from which there is no return. This game was simply not ready for market when it was released. Entire talent trees broken, no itemization (at all), meaningless stats (most of them didn't work), and countless other problems bogged down this game. I also hear that there was literally 40 levels without quests. Blech.
On the plus side, all characters looked totally badass, and Everyone vs. Everyone PvP was enjoyable. And I liked the combat system, with its multiple buttons and fun "fatality" animations.
This game might have been acceptable if Funcom had made a dilligent attempt to patch it up within the first month, but their patches broke as many things as they "fixed", and it just wasn't worth pouring money into a subscription. Shame. So much potential, wasted...
Warhammer Online: What I thought WoW was going to be when I purchased it. I enjoy it very much. I'm taking a break on it for now, giving it a few months to breathe and patch itself up, then I'll give it another go. Do you like MMO PvP? Play this game. Otherwise, steer clear.
WoW: Wrath of the Lich King: Death Knights are awesome, and their starting quest area is the best in the game; nay, best in any MMO I've played to date. Then they dump you back in Outlands, and it's the same-old-same-old. Haven't spent much time in Northrend, but I'm surprised at the lack of immediate upgrades. Guess they didn't want to piss off their hardcore crowd again.
Non-MMOs:
Fable 2: Much better than the first. Buggy as all Hell, and it killed my XBox, but it was still very entertaining!

I of course have more important stuff going on at the moment, and will make a big fancy post about it later.
